Stem cell science is “all the rage” these days and with good reason – stem cells could help us stay younger. Stem cells play an important role in our bodies from embryonic development through adulthood. We have about 250 cell types in the body, but even after birth and into adulthood, pockets of stem cells – cells that do not differentiate – remain. These adult stem cells play an important role in growth, maintenance and repair of our bodies.
Building on over forty years of research in Adult (not embryonic) Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hMSC), the scientists at Las Vegas, Nevada-based DermaTech Research and its Stemulance brand have uncovered a way to harness the same process within the body that adult stem cells use to rejuvenate and rebuild the structural parts of the body.
They have found a way to direct the power of adult stem cell action on skin and collagen in order to provide a skin care product that some beauty professionals have called “the Holy Grail of skin care.” The first product from the company was Stemulànce Facial Serum, Powered by Stemoxyl and they have now expanded the line to include a serum designed for the body – neck, arms, chest and legs – called Ultimate Body Therapy.
Several skin care products today claim to have stem cell based ingredients – some are based on plant stem cells, others on animal stem cells, others are based on human fetal tissues – but those approaches are lacking the years of scientific research which have gone into adult stem cells.

“No one is sure about the effectiveness of plant or animal stem cells when applied topically to the skin, but we can feel sure that our own body’s way is the most effective,” says Rob Shively, chairman and CEO at Stemulance. “Stemulance is based on the regenerative and restorative power of the human adult stem cell, the same one that deals with repairing skin, cartilage, blood, bones and neurons in the human body. I discovered stem cells in 2008 after I was blinded in my right eye from a botched surgery,” explains Shively.
At that time, Shively visited Europe at the suggestion of a friend who had received stem cells 16 years prior, after being told by his doctors that he had a five percent chance of living three years. When he witnessed what doctors were doing throughout Europe, Shively received stem cells and his vision was 100 percent restored. “We took that experience and developed the Stemulance anti aging system to help assist and accelerate the body’s natural healing process,” he adds.
Ultimate Body Therapy uses ingredients from natural botanical extracts. There are no parabens, petroleum derivatives, sulfates, formaldehyde donors, synthetic fragrances or coloring. It is lightly scented with a blend of natural citrus and lavender oils.

Hi thanks for your interesting article on how science stem cells can rejuvenate skin. It all sounds a bit scary if you ask me. I feel I look quite old, when compared to people the same age as me. I always ask them what their skin care treatment secret is and they don’t seem to know. Looking at their lifestyle, they are active, eat a healthy nutritious diet and use a couple of beauty products. I turned my life around once I discovered this. I have now taken up playing tennis, eating plenty of fish and veggies, and started using a number of skin care products. I look a lot healthier and feel great. The skin care products I use are a moisturiser on my face and eye creams to hide my bags. I’ll have to find out more info on the stem cell skin care treatment to see if it’s worth going for.
