Organic Carpetbaggers Flood the Market with Junk

By Dr. Allan Spreen

allen

Last year the organic food industry raked in almost $30 billion. That’s nearly an eight percent hike from last year.

Most of the growth occurred in the buying of organic fruits and vegetables. By comparison, the rest of the industry only grew about one percent.

Unfortunately, this emerging market has a downside. Your interest in organic food has created a new breed of food makers. I call them organic carpetbaggers. They make junk food with organic ingredients.

So now, there are organic cookies, organic mac & cheese, and even organic cheese puffs on the grocery store shelves. But they carry an “organic” label, so you may think they’re healthier than regular junk food.

Don’t be tempted by the switch and bait.

Just because a product is organic doesn’t mean it’s healthy! Check the ingredient list.

Try your best to stay away from any products containing white flour or sugar. I know it’s hard. But your overall health will improve if you stay away from white flour, even if pricey organic white flour!
