Sandra Parsons, author of the following article, Facelifts at 50 are an ugly betrayal, reminds us that “the simple truth is that all you have to do to look younger is lose a bit of weight, do some exercise and colour your hair. All it takes is the courage to start — because once you’ve begun, you won’t want to stop.”
That’s exactly why I love facial exercise. The movements create a vibrant, younger looking face. Heavy jowls and pouches? There’s a facial exercise for that! Tired of seeing droopy eyelids that impair your ability to wear your favorite eyeliner and shadows? Try this Upper Eye Exercise. Every portion of your face and neck can benefit from isometric exercise. No funny faces, puckers, twists or contortions.

Anna Paquin, a young, beautiful actress, has her head on straight when she says that undergoing plastic surgery could limit her future roles. You don’t have to be an actress to know that facial plastic surgery and injections that plump and paralyze can have devastating results. Once your exquisite facial features have been altered, there’s no going back because you will probably feel hypercritical and uneasy seeing a different person in the mirror. Fooling with Mother Nature won’t necessarily make you look younger so use proven facial exercise techniques that can help you look 5, 10, even 15 years younger in just weeks. What could be easier?

Chinplants are not new; in fact, they still bore the same amount of danger as every invasive cosmetic procedure. One of our Facial Magic clients, an MD from NY, attended one of my Learning Annex classes in NYC. When I saw her arrive, head down, a scarf disguising her disfigurement, I knew she had had either a car accident or something sinister happened to her appearance. It was the latter. She had suffered an infection from a chin implant that disfigured her once beautiful face. She never thought something like this would happen to her.

Typically, if you think about this movie, The Hunger Games, beauty trends wouldn’t necessarily come to mind; however, Jackie’s article has thought provoking items relating to beauty. Give it a read! A bald Barbie doll??? Really?

Unique characteristics define us and this includes our facial characteristics; if you cut and suture your beautiful face, you may not like the results in more ways than one because psychologists say that your self-definition may be affected. You could feel disconnected from your face because it no longer looks and feels like you. Ladies, stop cutting your faces and learn to exercise it. Sagging facial muscles and skin do not need a surgical correction, rather, exercise will lift, tone and tighten those features that you believe detract from your youthfulness.

The very beautiful Salma Hayek has resisted the urge to jump off the bridge – oh wait – she has resisted the urge to use Botox because she understands how paralyzing a muscle can have a detrimental effect on skin and other muscles. Very smart cookie! Let’s hear it for all the gals who resist plumping and paralyzing toxins…they do not always make you look younger but they certainly make you look done. Using facial exercise can return the look of Springtime to your face without using anything harmful or risky to your good health.

Here’s a follow up with a video of celebrities who are speaking out against plastic surgery. Cutting perfectly healthy skin in the name of beauty does not always produce the desired results and there are disappointments that cannot be remedied. Please consider using facial exercise rather than injections and surgery; it’s an easy, fast, and proven program to lift, tone and tighten your facial features.

Here’s another example of regret. Plastic surgery doesn’t always provide the results one is seeking and neither will injections that plump and paralyze. If you want a younger looking, prettier face, stick with facial exercise. It’s proven, it’s easy and best of all it works!

Such sad news that one of our favorite song birds left us recently. Whitney Houston had long been one of my favorite stars and her voice was magical when she sang songs that demonstrated her range of talent.
Several articles were released after her passing suggesting that she had contemplated a surgical face lift and that her surgeon, Dr. Marc Mani refused the singers request. I understand that this young, beautiful and talented woman was denied the procedure due to medical testing for heart, liver and lung function.
