I admit that the idea of facial exercise to get rid of wrinkles, lines and the effects of gravity on my jaw line, neck and chin held a certain appeal to me. I know the results a person can get from regular exercise in the gym so it made sense that you should be able to do something similar with the muscles in the face.

So where does this leave the rest of us? Facial plastic surgery is scary stuff and it has many risks, plus it presents an enigma – here you pay thousands and thousands of dollars for a procedure that has no satisfaction guarantee and you most likely will have to repeat certain procedures because the effects of gravity and atrophy will continue to bombard your facial features. Poor Valerie Bertinelli. Here she loses a great deal of weight, probably thirty pounds, maybe more, and instead of the media congratulating her on her new, svelte body, they are maligning her face, saying that she looks older now than she did two years ago when she still wore a size twelve.
