The Art of Nails in 2016

Nail art is just that – art! I had a laugh out loud moment when I read the article describing in photos just how easy it is to be clumsy with nail polish.

For quite some time I’ve had gel polish applied every 3 to 4 weeks by an expert manicurist. When my nails began to tell me that I needed to take a break from the regular applications of this topical miracle, I decided that I could easily take care of my nails – keeping them polish free until an appearance or a meeting would require polished nails.  Ha! These laughable misses in this article reminded me of how difficult it is to paint my right hand.

Springing for a professional manicure can be costly so considering a DIY drying machine and the polishes might be a good investment. My granddaughters have used their at home gel polish and drying machine quite successfully but they, at ages 14 & 16, began to practice their talent with colorful and delightful designs. Fast forward two years and they’re amazingly creative and accurate with their nail designs.

Pedicures are not a luxury item but a necessity for most women. Oh sure, painted toe nails look fantastic but it’s the maintenance of your toes and feet by your manicurist that keeps your nails neatly trimmed, clipped, clean and healthy. Soaking your feet is relaxing and having dead skin removed creates a polished feel to both feet and hands. Luxurious massages of hands and feet increases circulation, reduces stress and improves your over-all health so learn to sit back and enjoy the many benefits of manicure/pedicure.

Pedicures are definitely beneficial for men and a gift certificate makes a great gift for them.
