ARTHRITIS, INFLAMMATION AND DIET Rx
Inflammation in the body has been implicated in heart – kidney disease, diabetes and osteoarthritis. Rather than rely on aspirin, ibuprofen and other anti-inflammatory drugs, why not adjust your diet to introduce “user friendly foods” so that your body has the opportunity to heal itself.
There are foods and supplements that can dramatically improve your pain. First thing you’ll want to know: processed foods and fast foods are big culprits in creating your discomfort. Foods that harm have become readily available in many forms – fast food drive up windows, delivery services and non-stop advertising campaigns keep our taste buds on red alert.
We need to change our mind about food so that we can live healthier lives. Studies suggest that by adding more anti-inflammatory foods and decreasing those burgers, fries and other commercially processed foods that promote inflammation, you can feel better.
The “four white foods” to be eliminated from everyone’s diet are sugar, flour, pasta and rice. I know my body doesn’t like them and they don’t like my body.
My favorite anti-inflammatory foods are red delicious apples, raspberries and unsweetened almond milk. You also may want to consider mangosteen juice or capsules; I think it has helped my neck to feel better.
Supplements such as Omega 3 and Flaxseed Oil are extremely beneficial if you are suffering from inflammation; studies show that it takes approximately 75 days of devotion before results are noticeable so stay diligent when you begin the regimen. Salmon, sardines, tuna and mackerel are food sources for these nutrients and it’s recommended that you add them to your diet almost daily.
