Baked Gala Apples Recipe



1/3 cup dried cherries

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/3 cup chopped pecans

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp nutmeg

6 Gala Apples, rinsed

1/2 cup Bragg’s apple cider vinegar

3 tablespoons butter cut into pieces

1/2 cup maple syrup

1/2  cup sour cream



Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl mix together cherries, sugar, pecans, cinnamon and nutmeg. Put aside.

With a melon scooper, core apples to hollow out the middle. Do not go all the way through. Fill each apple core with the dry cherry mixture.

Pour apple cider into a casserole dish and place apples right side up. Place a pat of butter on apple hold filled with mixture. Drizzle maple syrup on top of all the apples. Bake for 50 minutes.

While baking occasionally brush the apples with accumulated juices.

Transfer apples to a plate. Pour liquid from dish into a bowl and whisk in sour cream. Drizzle over the apples. Serve warm.
