Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

The thought of losing my hair again frightens me because when your ‘crowning glory’ begins to fall, as in more strands in the brush and even more clogging the drain, can the cause be found and corrected before baldness is apparent?

My experience with extreme hair loss began in 2021 after a three week bout of a Covid-like illness. Knowing that isolation was the ideal solution to contracting any sickness, one of my favorite relatives passed, and my sister and I attended her funeral. We stopped at a quaint café in route which was full of patrons…then the funeral itself was very well attended.

Now I’m not typically a germ freak but recognizing that sitting in a pew with two hundred people around me, might not have been one of my best ideas.

Three weeks passed and I was in the throes of a cold/flu. I continued with my usual supplement routine, increasing Vitamin C and D intake, and finally I began to feel my symptoms subside, but then, I noticed hair strands in my brush – lots of hair strands.

Showering and washing my hair were frightening because I didn’t want to see any further damage. My hair stylist was sympathetic, assuring me that I was not the only one, but offering no solutions. When my body decided enough was enough, my hair was approximately 50% thinner.

Fast forward 5 years and my hair has returned to its fullness, but I notice that my part may be a little wider than I remember. Has that happened to you?

Rather than fretting, there are lotions, potions, and shampoos that claim to help regrow hair. Red light therapy is a natural solution that requires only a few minutes a day; there are other light options being explored right now to aid hair health.

In all fairness, my stylist had to thin my hair about 10 weeks ago because it was thick and long. What have I done differently? I added the X39 Patch September 2025.
