It’s More Than Just Belly Fat

Struggling with your weight can be a never-ending battle that can last for years on end.

Belly fat, the yellow, greasy fat, that sabotages your physique, once in place, it seems that stubborn blob of fat does not want to dislodge from its very prominent placement of front and center on your body.

Reducing caloric intake coupled with regular exercise 3 -4 times per week should begin to melt the offending mass that disgusts you but typically the slimming results you crave may not deliver. Why? Working out on a regular basis may sound appealing at first, but that routine can become tiresome as the newness of the experience begins to wane quickly.

Changing your eating habits is another challenge. Giving up foods that provide comfort and joy is reminiscent of losing your best friend. We love our pasta and other rich foods, especially those decadent confections that call to us.

We’ve either experienced this ourselves or we’ve watched a loved one battle the bulge, hoping to finally break free of the disappointments that come when weight doesn’t leave.

It’s not surprising that new studies are pointing to a connection between belly fat and heart challenges. A recent study presented by the Radiological Society of North America, included 2200 adults aged between 46 and 78 years of age.

The study showed that those men and women who had a high concentration of fat around their abdomen had thicker heart muscles and smaller heart chambers. This condition, according to Jennifer Erley who led the study at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, may be a sign of early strain on the heart.

Fat that surrounds your internal organs will have a detrimental effect on your blood sugar readings and your cholesterol levels.

BMI readings that measure health may not be enough. The results of accumulated fat internally have consequences that some tests do not reveal initially.

Accumulated fat around your middle can result in high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke. According to the pros, the very aspect that high accumulations of fat throughout the body, but especially around the waist, is a clear indicator that the Jello diet, the ice water trick, or the Himalayan Salt diet might be an advantageous step in alleviating unneeded stress on your heart.

There’s more…what about the rest of you? Belly fat isn’t just relegated to the abdomen; rather, fat is distributed throughout your body and that includes your face and neck. Waist, tummy, hips, and thighs will blatantly balloon as inches pile on. Same with arms as fat can wreck beautiful, shapely arms to look misshapen, jiggly, and oh so matronly.

There are no magic wands to change your body – even the injectable products have severe side effects. What you put into your mouth has consequences. From the smidgens of cream in your coffee to an all-out sugar assault, the calories you eat tells the tale of the tape.
