New Year, New You – Exactly What Does That Mean?

The phrase New Year – New You is bandied about quite a bit at the beginning of a new year but how does this phrase equate to you – if at all?

Does this mean you’re going to turn over a new leaf? Perhaps. New Year Resolutions can be powerful.

Does this new leaf mean you’ll be loving and kind with words and actions that speak volumes that you are indeed going to do what you say you want to do to develop into the person you want to be?

Perhaps “attitude adjustment” is the better phrase because without examining your attitude towards everything – every thing, nothing will change because nothing has changed.

Surly, arrogant retorts to simple questions or statements reveal a lot about a person’s mindset. There must be “tapes” running in the sub-conscious background that promote hate, unkind words, and an unwillingness to be a part of civil society.

Do you have a difficult time getting on with others? Do you sit away from the crowd, isolating yourself from all conversation and interaction with others?

That behavior of preferring isolation was likely learned a long time ago.

Change can be rather difficult to accept. Even when you want to improve as a person, setting simple goals like being more faithful to a better eating plan or more exercise, less time in front of the tv or computer.

Are you a quitter? Do you let fear rule your life by quitting everything?

People do that. It’s alarming that the pattern of quitting is evident more and more – soon, that person is likely to quit on life – foregoing relationships that once meant the world, but that old habit of quitting begins to quietly seep into your mind and before you know it, you have again sabotaged yourself and everything worthy of love and affection.

Being fearful and scared of the future is the base cause of this dilemma. How do you stop the madness, the gerbil wheel of sabotage and hate?

By changing your mind! That’s right, you’ve got to want the change to make the change because everything begins in your mind. Thoughts in mind create after their kind.
