Are Facial Scrubs Polluting the Environment?

I appreciate companies who look at a situation like plastic microbeads in facial scrubs and determine that the oceans would be better served if these offending products were removed. Ingredients in skin care must be carefully monitored just like ingredients in bread – Subway and Chick-fil-A – recognized that certain additives were suspected carcinogens and are removing them. I applaud Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson and others who agree to phase out products that may harm their users.
