Angelina, Eat Your Heart Out: How to Get Naturally Plump Lips
Naturally beautiful lips are always in vogue and Luscious Lips Lip Pump is the most reliable tool to deliver results. No lumps or bumps or anything hurtful or invasive. Not everyone is born with full, dramatic lips like Angelina but with a little effort, you, too, can enjoy fuller, sexy, sensational lips that rival hers.

In the Land of Blood and Honey is now available on DirecTv pay-per-view. Despite it’s sub-par reviews, I’m a long-time member of team Angelina and I’m excited to see what the beautiful Jolie can do behind the camera. The humanitarian in me loves the gritty authenticity (or attempt at it) of her new film, but the green-eyed monster in me still can’t seem to get over—you guessed it—her lips.
I considered lip injections, but after seeing the epic disproportion of some infamous celebrity trout pouts, I started searching for more natural options. Here’s what I found:
Choose it. I’m loving the results:
1. Lip pumps. These are temporary, but the results are instant and impressive! I got mine—along with an excellent lip moisturizer—Luscious Lips Lip Pump Deluxe Kit by Cynthia Rowland.
2. Sally Hansen PM Lip Plumper. These results are subtle, but worth the very reasonable price. Get yours at a local Walgreens, CVS, or online here.
3. Take Hyaluronic acid. Taking Hyaluronic Acid capsules, and using it topically can lead to plumper lips. However, because HA is a humectant, using it in extremely dry climates may make your lips dry and chapped (the HA will leech water from your skin instead of from the air as it would in a more humid climate).
4. Also a humectant, honey is great for plumping lips.
5. Exfoliate lips by rubbing them with warm, damp washcloth. Exfoliating will stimulate blood flow and remove dead skin making lips look healthier and fuller.
6. Whistle. Whistling—loudly—naturally plumps tips over time.
Lose it. Sure I’m pouting—but it’s not sexy:
1. Topically apply Cinnamon oil. Cinnamon oil is found in many drugstore lip-plumpers. I tried to mix up a custom batch of luscious lip balm, but the cinnamon oil left my lips dry and chapped.
2. Liquid Niacin. I’m not sure where I heard this one, but let me tell you, do NOT put liquid Niacin on your lips! Sure, you’ll enjoy a temporary plump, but if your lips are anything like mine, they’ll be dry and peeling for days!
3. Tobasco Sauce. This sounds crazy because—well—it is! Tobasco Sauce burns like crazy. My lips were incredibly full for a few hours but the spicy burn—and runny nose—weren’t really worth it!
If all else fails, use these makeup tricks to give the illusion of plumper, more kissable lips:
1. Cover your lips with a primer or foundation
2. Use a lip pencil nearest the color of your natural lip to shade the area just beyond your natural lip line (subtlety and blending are key here)
3. Lightly highlight your cupids bow with a shimmery, cream-colored lip pencil
4. Apply a nude lipstick (preferably with a lip brush for smooth and even coverage)
5. Apply a lighter shade to the fullest parts of your top and bottom lips
6. Apply a shimmery lip gloss to only the middle of your top and bottom lips to complete the illusion of fullness.
