How to get upper arms like Sigourney Weaver’s: Secrets of an A-list body

We reveal how to get the enviable physiques of the stars. This week, Sigourney Weaver’s upper arms

It’s hard to believe that the actress Sigourney Weaver is 63 – at last week’s Tony Awards in New York she displayed shapely upper arms with not a bingo wing in sight.

The actress admits this involves effort. ‘As you get older, it gets harder and harder,’ she says. ‘You just have to not eat a lot of things you like and then go to the gym.’

She stays in shape by doing Pilates, gardening, walking her dogs and running up several flights of stairs a day.

What you can do: Tricep kickbacks are great for banishing bingo wings and toning the muscles in the back of the upper arm.

Stand with feet one in front of the other and a bottle of water or light dumb-bell in each hand. Lean forward from the waist and bend arms to 90 degrees. Keep your back straight and don’t twist.

Hinge from the elbow to raise the bottles to chest height backwards. Your upper arms should stay still. Return to the start position and repeat.

Perform 12 times on each arm.
